BOWMAN, Carlene R.

Carlene Edna Rieley Bowman, 95, died peacefully August 8, 2017 at her home in Daleville with her daughters at her side.

Carlene was born February 12, 1922 in Roanoke and later moved with her family to Botetourt County. She was graduated from Fincastle High School and continued her education at National Business College. Carlene moved to Washington, D.C. and worked for the Department of the Navy for several years before returning to Botetourt to marry and raise a family. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and quilting, making a quilt for each of her grandchildren. Carlene was a long-time and oldest member of Trinity Church of the Brethren where she served as a deaconess and sang in the choir.

Carlene was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Pearl Baker Rieley; husband of 50 years Samuel Bowman, son David, and her brother Lylburn Rieley.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Vic Sisson of Fincastle, Nancy and Sam Pillis of Troutville, and Anne and John Everhart of Hardy; grandchildren: Todd (Debbie) Bowman, Angela Bowman, Brian (Angela) Kosko, Robert Hall, Arianna Sisson, Travis Sisson, Denise (Jeremy) Lisle, Heather Pillis, Michael Pillis, Lindsey (Justin) Mueller, and Steve (Catherine) Stump; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Juanita Wertz of Louisville, Ky.; daughter-in-law, Peggy Bowman Vance; and many nieces and nephews.

A service honoring Carlene’s life was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 12 at Rader Funeral Home, Daleville with the Rev. Stuart Kelly officiating. Burial was in Trinity Cemetery. Carlene’s family received friends at the funeral home 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Trinity Church of the Brethren, P.O. Box 128, Daleville, 24083. WEBB, Daniel W.

Daniel Wayne Webb, 15, of Troutville passed away Sunday, August 7, 2017.

Daniel was born in Roanoke November 9, 2001 and lived in Troutville all his life. He was a student at Lord Botetourt High School and excelled in his love of art, especially drawing. He enjoyed comics and computers, and ran track. Daniel was a member of Community Advent Christian Church and Troutville Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wayne Webb, Gene Craft, and Kathryn Spencer.

Daniel is survived by his parents, Chris and Jennifer Webb of Troutville; brothers, Greyson Webb and Preston Conner; sister, Allynna Conner; grandparents and great-grandparents: Pam Webb, Kathy Gutierrez, Joey McCray, Dennis Clark, James Spencer, and Sue Craft; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins; and his cat, Kate Spade.

A celebration of Daniel’s life was held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 11 at Troutville Baptist Church, with Pastor Carol Johnson, the Rev. T.G. Ayers, and the Rev. Eric Gutierrez officiating. Burial was in Troutville Cemetery. The family received friends at Rader Funeral Home, Daleville from 6-8 p.m. Thursday. On-line condolences may be made to the family at www.rader-funeralhome.com.
