Buchanan Food Pantry open Saturday
The Buchanan Presbyterian Church Food Pantry, postponed from last Saturday because of the snow, will be open this Saturday, January 18, from 9 till 11 a.m. The Buchanan Lions Club will distribute meat, bread, milk and staples at the curb. Anyone who needs food is welcome. The church is at 19559 Main Street, Buchanan.
The Mission and Outreach Committee would like to thank its partners, the Lions Club, St. Mark’s UMC in Daleville, and Buchanan Baptist Church, for all their help over the last year in reaching out to community members who need a little extra help. A new partner this year is Mill Creek Baptist Church.
Fincastle Presbyterian Service if Prayer dates
Fincastle Presbyterian Church will be holding a Service of Prayer for Wholeness and Healing at 5 p.m. on Wednesdays, January 22, February 26, and March 26.
This special service of prayer, music, silence and scripture is an opportunity to gather in Christian community and draw closer to God and offer prayers for individuals, the community, the country and the world.
A light supper will be served in the fellowship hall after the service. All are invited. The church is located at 108 E. Back Street, Fincastle.
Linen sale at Cloverdale Thrift Store
Cloverdale Church of the Brethren Thrift Store is having a linen sale for month of January. Everything from sheets and bedspreads to bath towels, placemats and throw pillows are all priced to sell at $1. Donations are welcome; open Saturday 9 to 12.
Joyful Journey travels for 2025
Joyful Journey Travels is an outreach ministry of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Daleville. This ministry specializes in offering overnight trips for senior citizens, but any age is welcome.
