Pleasant Hill Baptist Church will have food boxes available Saturday, February 8, from 9 till 10:30 a.m.
Pick them up at the church on Country Club Road or at the Eagle Rock Library.
Buchanan Food Pantry open Saturday
The Buchanan Food Pantry, sponsored by the Buchanan Presbyterian Church, will be open February 8, from 9 a.m. till 11 a.m. Volunteers from Buchanan Baptist Church will be hosts and distribute meat, bread, milk and staples at the curb to anyone who needs food. The church is at 19559 Main Street, Buchanan.
Fellowship meal Sunday at Fincastle Presbyterian
On Sunday, February 9, immediately following Sunday morning service (approximately 11:30 a.m.), Fincastle Presbyterian Church will be hosting a covered-dish fellowship meal in the downstairs fellowship hall. The church will be providing chicken and drinks. All are welcome to come.
Ebenezer having ‘Souper’ Bowl this Saturday
Ebenezer United Methodist Church will have a “Souper” Bowl on Saturday, February 8, from 2 till 4 p.m. Get soup or chili to take home for Sunday or eat in on Saturday. The soup and chili will be sold for $5 a pint. Desserts will also be sold. Ebenezer is located at 85 Nace Road, Troutville.
Hymn sing at Mt. Carmel
Mt. Carmel Church, Eagle Rock, will host a community hymn sing on Sunday, February 9, at 6:30 p.m. Light refreshments will follow. All are welcome.
Eagle Rock Clothes Closet dates
The Eagle Rock Community Clothes Closet, located at Eagle Rock United Methodist Church, 14565 Church Street in Eagle Rock, will be open Saturdays, February 15 and 22, from 9 a.m. to noon, and Wednesday, February 19, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
The closet has women’s, men’s and children’s clothing, shoes, and toys at no charge. There is an expanded children’s section for February. Visitors are requested to use bags provided by the church and respect the bag limit.

Fincastle Presbyterian Service of Prayer dates
Fincastle Presbyterian Church will be holding a Service of Prayer for Wholeness and Healing at 5 p.m. on Wednesdays, February 26, and March 26.
This special service of prayer, music, silence and scripture is an opportunity to gather in Christian community and draw closer to God and offer prayers for individuals, the community, the country and the world.
A light supper will be served in the fellowship hall after the service. All are invited. The church is located at 108 E. Back Street, Fincastle.
Valentine Tea at St. Mark’s UMC
St. Mark’s United Methodist in Daleville is hosting a Valentine Tea to raise funds for a Rise Against Hunger Meal Packing. Want to have high tea with your sweetie or enjoy an afternoon with your best friends? Plan to attend the Valentine Tea on Saturday, February 15, in the fellowship hall; choose a time between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Boxes also will be offered to go and boxes of just scones and Devonshire cream. Linen sale at Cloverdale Thrift Store
Cloverdale Church of the Brethren Thrift Store is having a linen sale for month of January. Everything from sheets and bedspreads to bath towels, placemats and throw pillows are all priced to sell at $1. Donations are welcome; open Saturday 9 to 12.
