Wrestlers from with the Botetourt Training Center who attend Read Mountain and Central Academy Middle Schools had a strong showing at the 2025 VAWA Kids State Qualifier at Glenvar High School last weekend, earning spots at states.
Read Mountain had three champions, Jackson Dean at 105, Porter Kincer at 115 and Bronson Shields at 165. Nathan Gergely was second at 96 and Brenden Reedy took a third at 84.
Two Central Academy boys were runners-up, Tucker Hall at 132 and Ashton Orange at 175. Thirds were won by Treavor Puffenbarger at 150, Bryson Spence at 110 and Sam Hall, in overtime, at 132.
