BJ Williams (Basil Miller Williams) from Troutville, at the age of 63 years old, went to be with the Lord on February 9, 2025 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke.
He lost the love of his life, Kathy Hall, in 2013; they spent 11 wonderful years together.
He was born in Roanoke, the son of Basil Williams Sr. and Betty Duncan Williams of Blue Ridge. He graduated from Lord Botetourt High School in Daleville with the Class of 1979. He was an employee of AVIS Construction out of Lynchburg.
He was belonged to Colonial Baptist Church of Blue Ridge. He enjoyed racing, fishing, shooting pool, bowling, and hanging out with his friends. He also played guitar with his late cousin, Lynnwood, Jr. “Biscuit Williams.” He had a wonderful sense of humor; he was straightforward and would literally do anything for anyone. If you ever needed a place to stay he would let you stay with him in his home without a second thought. He had his faults, but everyone loved him and accepted him as he was.
He is survived by his two sisters, Joyce Kelley of Roanoke and Barbra Chewning of Georgia; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews, and nieces. Special friends Derek, Shena, Carson, and Maggie Ferguson, we do appreciate the concern and care you and family had done for him. To his neighbors on Coaling Road, thank you for always being there for him– he loved you all.
He was predeceased by his grandparents on the Williams and Duncan sides; both parents, Basil Williams Sr. and Betty Duncan Williams; and his life partner of 11 years, Kathy Hall.
The memorial service was held on February 17 at 12 p.m. at the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 5731 Airport Road NW, Roanoke. If you would like to donate to a charity in his name, go to https://www.Hopeforpaws.com. He had a love for dogs.
