State wrestling tournaments and state swim meets were weathered out of their scheduled dates last week and rescheduled for better weather this week. Lord Botetourt and James River will have athletes participating in both sports.
For wrestling, the Lord Botetourt boys will compete in the Class 3 state tournament at Heritage High School on Saturday, and it’s an all-day event. The girls will be at the Henrico Sports and Events Center for their state on Wednesday and Thursday of this week for an “open” tournament, including all VHSL classifications.
Class 2 boys’ wrestling, with James River, is also scheduled for Saturday at Virginia High School in Bristol. The Class 1 and 2 tournaments are both at Virginia High.
The Class 3 swimming and diving state events will be held on March 3 and 4. The diving will be at the Hampton Aquaplex on Monday, March 3, with the swimming events at the SwimRVA facility in Richmond on Tuesday, March 4.
For Class 1&2 the swimming events will be at SwimRVA in Richmond on Thursday of this week, February 27.
