The Grafton High boys and Heritage girls won Virginia High School League Class 3 state indoor track championships last week at Liberty University in Lynchburg. The Lord Botetourt boys took 17th in the meet.
Botetourt’s best finish was a third place in the 3200 meters by Eric Duncan, who finished in 9:27.91. Triston Graves was fifth in the 55-meter hurdles in 7.85 and teammate Caleb Miller was right behind in sixth at 7.88.
Ethan Thorne took a 10th place in the 1600-meter run. In the relays, Botetourt’s boys were 13th in both the 4×200 and 4×800.
The LB girls did not score. Jillian Harris was 11th in the 55-meter preliminaries but did not qualify for the finals.
