During the Botetourt County School Board’s regular meeting last Thursday in Fincastle, Superintendent Dr. Jonathan Russ announced March’s Employees of the Month. Tammy Ogle, the school nurse at Buchanan Elementary School, and Emily Keogh, a kindergarten teacher at Greenfield Elementary School, each received certificates of recognition for their exceptional service and contributions to Botetourt County Public Schools.

Russ read quotes for both employee’s nominations. “Tammy Ogle exemplifies the dedication of a school nurse,” Russ read. “She provides care and support to all students and while assisting custodians and painting the school entryway. Tammy fosters strong relationships between family, staff, and healthcare providers. Her unwavering commitment keeps Buchanan Elementary running smoothly. Without Nurse Tammy, the school would not function as effectively. Her compassion and dedication are invaluable to the community.”

Keogh previously taught Russ’s daughter and School Board Chair Anna Weddle’s daughter while she served as a fourth grade teacher. “Emily is such a pleasure to work with,” Russ read. “She also has a positive attitude and has a great relationship with her students.”
