The Virginia High School League has announced its 2025 Class 2 All-State girls basketball team and James River senior Caitlin Canada has been named to the second team. Central (Wise) senior guard Emmah McAmis is the Class 2 Player of the Year, and Central (Wise) head coach Robin Dotson is the Class 2 Coach of the Year. Central is the team that eliminated James River in the state quarterfinal.
A four-time All-State first-teamer and the Class 2 POY for the third straight season, the 5’7″ McAmis averaged 27.9 points (838 ), 7 .0 rebounds (210), 4.1 assists (122), and 3.7 steals (112) per game. In the state finals against John Marshall, she scored 26 points, had 11 rebounds, and four assists in leading the Warriors to their second straight state title. The East Tennessee State signee scored 3,041 points in four seasons with a 24.7 ppg over 123 games.
Central head coach Robin Dotson led the Warriors to a 28-3 record and the school’s seventh eighth championship.
