After a long battle with cancer, Sandra A. VanNess, 84, of Roanoke went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 24, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron P. Arnold and Anita B. Arnold.
She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Lori VanNess: grandchildren, Clayton Gilkeson and Mackenzie Gilkeson and Mackenzie’s fiancé Jason Hinkley; lifelong friends RuthAnn Mann and Barbara Nash.
A celebration of Sandra’s life will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Brentwood Baptist Church, 3912 Plantation Road, Roanoke, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rodney Spears officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to Straight Street of Roanoke or Brentwood Baptist Church.
The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice for their care during this time.
