Celebrate Earth Day in Fincastle

The Fincastle Sustainability Committee is sponsoring the second annual Earth Day Event on Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m at the Fincastle Library. This free activity will feature information about Earth Day topics of interest to adults and children. Get your questions answered by local experts about pollinators, composting, forestry, astronomy, solar, and more. Visitors are invited to bring plants and cuttings for the Plant Exchange, and children can create Earth Day art projects. We encourage you and your family to check it out!

The mission of Fincastle’s Sustainability Committee is to help Fincastle continue to be a community that can persist over generations, enjoy a healthy environment, prosperous economy, and a vibrant civic life.

We are thrilled to be partnering with the Fincastle Friends of the Library who are holding their Book Sale on April 24  through the 26. This cooperation has generated some great ideas and enthusiasm that will make this a fun and educational event. We are very grateful to Sarah Rodgers of Fincastle Library and to Paige Ware and all the dedicated members of the Fincastle Friends.

Among the used books, puzzles, and assorted media, you’ll find something at the sale for every member of your family. Please consider contributing by donating used books, volunteering at the sale, and/or shopping on Thursday, 10-8 (books priced per item), Friday, 10-5 ($10 per bag), or Saturday, 10-2 ($5 per bag). Please note that all purchases are cash only. Proceeds from the sale are used to support library programming and to purchase furnishings.

Your family and your community will benefit from the Earth Day Event and the Book Sale!
