The streets of historic Fincastle will come alive with color and creativity on Saturday, June 7, (rain date June 8) from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. as artists from near and far gather for “Paint Fincastle” 2025, a plein air painting event celebrating the beauty and history of this cherished Virginia town.

Hosted by the Botetourt County Historical Society Inc., and Open Studios Botetourt, Paint Fincastle invites artists of all skill levels to set up their easels throughout the town, capturing its stunning architecture, scenic landscapes, and vibrant historic spirit.

Following the resounding success of its inaugural event last year, Paint Fincastle is destined to quickly become a highlight of the local arts calendar! The 2024 event brought together a diverse group of artists who filled the town with energy and creativity, producing stunning works that showcased Fincastle’s timeless charm. Community members and visitors alike enjoyed watching the artistic process unfold and viewing the finished pieces during the closing reception, held at the museum.

The event will once again culminate in a small reception and exhibition at the museum from 3 p.m. – 4 p.m., where the public will have the opportunity to view original artwork created throughout the day.

Paint Fincastle is open to artists of all ages and experience levels. Registration is now open, and participants can sign up now through June 3.

For more information about Paint Fincastle, including registration details and event updates, visit Open Studios Botetourt’s Facebook page or Botetourt County Historical Society’s website and social media.
