The James River girls will have their first home tennis match this week and both LB teams are also in action at various locations.
The first year Knights will be at Hollins University’s courts on Thursday for their first ever home match. Bath County will provide the opposition and the Knights are hoping to pick up their first win.
Last week at Glenvar the River girls fell to the host Highlanders, 8-1. River’s point came when Addison Bandy and Payton White forced a tie-breaker in their eight-game pro set, and won the tie-breaker 7-4 to win the point.
The Lord Botetourt girls will host Staunton River at Hollins Friday. The girls won two matches last week, beating both Northside and Franklin County by 9-0 scores around an 8-1 loss to Salem.
Lord Botetourt’s boys will be in action today, Wednesday, hosting Magna Vista at Hollins. Staunton River does not have a boys team so the Cavaliers will get a day off Friday when they would normally play the Eagles.
