The Lord Botetourt boys soccer team will recognize the senior players Friday when they host Franklin County in a Blue Ridge District match.
The Cavaliers come into the week at 8-7 overall and 5-3 in the district after losing to William Fleming last Friday, 4-1 in Roanoke. The Cavs were scheduled to play at Northside on Tuesday of this week, but results were too late for publication.
Last Friday at Fleming, LB struck first when Will Hall took the ball down the left side of the field. He got to the end line and passed it back to Isaac Alderman in the box, and Isaac was able to give the Cavaliers a 1-0 lead.
Fleming responded with three goals before the half to go 3-1 at intermission. Botetourt out-shot Fleming in the second half, but the Colonels were able to find the back of the net when a shot hit off keeper JB Cook’s hands for the 4-1 final.
