Botetourt County has announced the completion and upcoming dedication of newly resurfaced, dual-use pickleball and tennis courts at Blue Ridge Park and Buchanan Recreation Park near Buchanan Elementary School, along with upgrades to the basketball courts at Blue Ridge. These long-awaited improvements result from strategic planning, community engagement, including the 2023 Quality of Life Survey, and a shared vision for active recreation spaces in Botetourt, said a news release from the county.
The county will host ribbon-cutting ceremonies and “Pack the Park” community celebrations at each location:

Blue Ridge Park – Friday, June 6 at 10:30 a.m.
409 Park Drive, Roanoke
The ribbon cutting and a short program are at 10:30 a.m. with drop-in activities until 6 p.m. Light refreshments and giveaways provided. -
Buchanan Recreation Park – Saturday, June 21 at 6 p.m.
Located near Buchanan Elementary School (255 Schoolhouse Road)
The ribbon cutting and a short program are at 6 p.m., followed by activities and a family movie night starting at 7:30 p.m. (featuring “Wild Robot”). Light refreshments and giveaways provided.
