In a social media post made by the Town of Buchanan over the weekend, the annual Reggae by the River music festival has been canceled this year “due to a number of unforeseen circumstances.”
The town expressed its awareness of the community’s excitement every year about the event stating, “we know that many of you look forward to this event each year and that this will come as a disappointment. The town did not make this decision lightly, and much consideration and discussion was had before we came to the conclusion that this was the right thing to do.”
The town shared that this isn’t the end of the music festival, just that it won’t be held this July. Buchanan is “hopeful” for a festival next year that is “bigger and better than ever.”
