Coffman, Carolyn Ruble

Carolyn Ruble Coffman, 95, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

She was the youngest child of Frank Leslie and Beulah Loope Ruble, of Wheatland Road, Botetourt County. She married Robert “Bob” Coffman on April 21, 1954. Carolyn retired from BlueCross, BlueShield (now Anthem) after almost 33 years of service. She and Bob moved from Smith Mountain Lake to The Glebe in 2014. Bob passed away on October 4, 2018.

Along with her parents and husband, Caroyln was preceded in death by her brothers and their spouses, Arnold and Martha Ruble, Ralph and Emily Ruble; sisters and their spouses, Gladys and Lloyd Foster, Irene and Ben Sprinkel; and niece, Judy Ruble Barr.

She is survived by her nephew, Benja Sprinkel (Marie) of Roanoke; Coffman nieces, Patricia Pugh of Maine, Margaret Oliver of South Carolina, Karen Harold of Buchanan, Sharon Argabright (David) of Roanoke; Coffman nephews, David and Judy of Richmond, Ken and Leah of Fincastle, Steve and Bonnie of Salem, Michael Prease of Buchanan, and numerous great-nieces and -nephews.

Carolyn was blessed with many “special friends”. You received calls, emails, or texts during her declining health. Thank you for your prayers, cards, flowers, and presence. The family is grateful to the nurses and staff of 10 South at RMH, who took good care of her.

A graveside inurnment service for Bob and Carolyn will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2025, in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Roanoke, in the Tranquil Oaks section (left side), with Pastor Adam Stoltz officiating. Memorials may be made to Camp Bethel, 328 Bethel Road, Fincastle, 24090. Condolences may be made at www.botetourtfh.com or 540-254-3000.
