The Three Rivers District will finish up their regular season of matches today with a round at the Olde Mill Course in Laurel Fork, Va.
Today’s round won’t have a bearing on the regular season championship. Floyd County wrapped that up long ago, winning every single Three Rivers match, including last week’s round at the Hanging Rock Golf Club in Roanoke County. The Buffaloes shot a team score of 298 to win by 23 strokes over James River.
With that said, the Knights had a very good day. River’s Landon Bolling was the medalist with a three-under-par 69. Radford’s Hunter Crist shot 70 and Floyd had the next two best scores, 71 by Peyton Mason and 72 by Isaiah Cantrell.
River’s next best was a 74 by Mason Gilliland. Also scoring for the Knights were Braden Persinger at 88 and Elizabeth Johnson at 90 for 321.
The third team in the district at “The Rock” was host Glenvar at 326. Next was Radford at 331 followed by Patrick County at 332, Carroll County at 338 and Martinsville at 459.
River coach Donna Cox was scheduled to take a few golfers to Cliff View on Tuesday prior to today’s round at Olde Mill.
