The Botetourt County General Registrar and Special Elections Office recently issued an important public notice regarding the upcoming general and special elections scheduled for November 4, 2025. Voters are encouraged to take note of key dates, locations, and procedures to ensure their participation in this election cycle.
Early in-person voting will be available from Friday, Sept. 19, through Saturday, Nov. 1, ending at 5 p.m.
Voting can be done at the Department of Elections & Voter Registration Office, located at 2 East Main Street in Fincastle, at the corner of Roanoke and Main Streets. The office will be open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except for Monday, Oct. 13, when it will be closed. Additionally, special Saturday hours are offered on Oct. 25 and Nov. 1, with the office open from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on the former and until 5 p.m. on the final day of early voting.
The deadline to register or update voter registration is Friday, Oct. 24. In-person registrations must be submitted by 5 p.m., while online registrations will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. on that date. The same deadline applies for requesting a Vote By Mail ballot, which is the identical ballot used for early voting and Election Day voting.
Voters can return their Vote By Mail ballots to several convenient drop-off locations, including the Department of Elections & Voter Registration Office at the address above. A secure dropbox slot for ballots is located in the vestibule of the office entrance. Voters may also hand-deliver ballots during regular business hours; however, only the voter to whom the ballot was issued may deliver it in person. Other ballots must be deposited in the dropbox or mailed. On Election Day, ballots can be returned at any polling location from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
