Latane Daniel Brugh Jr., 96, of Daleville, was called to his Heavenly home on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Latane Brugh Sr. and Beulah Brugh; siblings, Goben Brugh, Nobledene Bryant, and Neville Brugh; and grandson, Zachary Brugh.
Latane graduated from Troutville High School in 1946. He graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech in 1950. He was a long-time member of Bonsack Baptist Church. He was on the Virginia Baptist Homes Foundation Board, Salvation Army Advisory Board, and the Charles Pickney Jones Library Board. He retired from Westvaco in 1992 as the New Products Manager.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Anne H. Brugh; children, Stuart Brugh, Sharon Brugh (William Stull), Jeff Brugh, and Larry Brugh; stepchildren, McLauren Foster (Jim) and Benjamin Pearman, III; grandchildren, Adona Baker, Brandon Bougades, Claire Brugh, Abby Brugh, Elizabeth Brugh, Lori Gay (Michael), Cherilyn Colbert (Pete), Shaun Mundy, and Courtney Mundy; great-grandchildren, Lizzie Gibson (Derek), Tyler Baker, Danielle Day, MaKenna Day, Sierra Colbert, Harris Colbert, Logan Gay and Levi Brugh; stepgreat-grandchildren, Jon Foster, Jesse Foster, Jackson Gay, and Ethan Gay; and several nieces, nephews, and other family.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26, 2025, at Oakey’s East Chapel. A memorial service was held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, at Bonsack Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Moore officiating. Condolences may be shared with his family by visiting www.Oakeys.com.
