The Botetourt County Council of Weekday Religious Education (WRE) announces its after-school Weekday Bible Club to begin later in October. This marks the third year that the Weekday Bible Club has been offered as an after-school program. The club for this school year begins on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Breckinridge Elementary School and on Monday, Oct. 27, at Eagle Rock Elementary School.
The Bible Club meets one day per week and each club meeting begins immediately after school is dismissed for the day. Each club meeting lasts approximately one hour. Teachers Sharon Coleman and Laura Epperly will lead the Bible Club in singing, Bible drills and other games, as well as having a central focus on a Bible story for the week.

Weekday Religious Education has been active in Botetourt County since 1936. The first WRE Council established in Virginia began in 1929. Today, there are WRE Councils in 21 different school districts in Virginia and WRE Councils are established in more than thirty states.
“We are very fortunate to be able to continue such a well-established tradition of Bible training and education adjacent to the public school day,” Said WRE Council President Robert McRae. “We would like very much to be able to expand the after-school Weekday Bible Club to other Botetourt County elementary schools in addition to Breckinridge and Eagle Rock.
“If you have a student who would like to enroll in the Weekday Bible Club at Breckinridge or Eagle Rock, please contact us by text, phone call or email and we will be glad to send you an enrollment form,” he continued. “And if you are in another elementary school district and would like to see the Weekday Bible Club established there, please let us hear from you.”
