The Lord Botetourt football team is coming off a bye with five Blue Ridge District games to go in the regular season. The Cavaliers are 4-1 overall as they open district play Friday night in Rocky Mount against Franklin County.
Cavalier coach Jamie Harless and his staff were in Lynchburg last Friday to watch Franklin fall to Liberty Christian Academy, 41-14. It was the third loss in a row for the Eagles after opening the season with wins over Bassett and Salem. The Eagles then lost to undefeated Patrick Henry, Magna Vista and LCA.
“They have all the ingredients for a good team,” said Harless of the Eagles. “Like always, they have good athletes and good size.”
Harless gave his boys off last Friday after four days of mid-season lifting.
“I can assure you it wasn’t an easy week for them,” he said.
