Attic Productions will open  “The Play That Goes Wrong,” written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, on Thursday, Oct. 16, at the D. Geraldine Lawson Performing Arts Center, 7490 Roanoke Road, Fincastle.

Directed by Kerry Williams, assisted by Kelli Hobson and stage manager Katie Bjorkland, this show runs Oct. 16-19 and 23-26, with Thursday and Friday performances at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday shows at 2:30 p.m. Pre-show antics begin at 7 p.m. and 2 p.m., respectively.

In this show-within-a-show, it is opening night of the Cornley Drama Society’s production of “The Murder at Haversham Manor,” and in spite of the troupe’s best efforts, mishaps are causing mayhem on stage. Props are missing or falling apart, lines are forgotten, understudies are called upon, and scenery malfunctions, but the show must go on. Is the leading lady unconscious?  Is the corpse really dead? Watch the actors engage in energetic  physical comedy requiring precise timing, and marvel at the intricate set design.

Adult tickets are $20; students 18 and under and groups of 10 or more are $15 when paid in cash or by check at the box office. Tickets may be purchased on the Attic Productions website by visiting www.atticproductions.info.  For questions or assistance with purchasing tickets, call the box office at 540-473-1001. Volunteers are staffing the box office Mondays and Wednesdays from 3-5 p.m. Staff will also be in the box office approximately 1-1/2 hours before each performance. Leave a message at other times and your call will be returned as soon as possible

This production is presented by arrangement with Dramatists Play Service under license from Mischief Worldwide Ltd.
