Doris Jean Waldron, 90, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025.
She was the daughter of the late Leon Hodge and Dorothy Hodge Bowden. She retired from the Department of Motor Vehicles and was a member of St. Philip Lutheran Church. Doris loved following sports, NASCAR, UVA football/basketball and the Washington Commanders.
Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Gary H. Waldron; daughter, Tina Waldron; life-long friends who are like family, Dot and Eugene Salyer; step-brother, Chuck Bowden; step-sister, Shirley Getz; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025 from 1 to 2 p.m. at St. Philip Lutheran Church, 8115 Williamson Road, Roanoke, followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. with Pastor David Derrick officiating. Interment will follow in the Montvale Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice or The Lion’s Share Food Pantry, c/o St. Philip Lutheran Church. Arrangements are by Oakey’s East Chapel, 540-977-3909.
