
The Botetourt County Farm Bureau Memorial Foundation is now accepting applications for its annual scholarship program, which supports students pursuing agriculture or agriculture-related fields of study.
The scholarship was established in honor of individuals such as John Etzler and Frank Wickline, whose lifelong efforts helped promote and encourage agriculture in Botetourt County. Scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors and other students who are continuing their education in agriculture or related fields.
As part of the application process, applicants must provide the following information and materials:
- Applicant’s name, address, telephone number, and any other locations where they have lived
- A list of agriculture-related clubs or groups in which the applicant is involved
- A brief description of the applicant’s family
- Current grade point average
- College the applicant plans to attend and intended major
- A written explanation of when and how the applicant developed an interest in agriculture
- A description of the applicant’s agricultural experiences
- A list of any agricultural shows, awards, or recognitions received
- A list of other hobbies and interests
- A letter of recommendation from a teacher
- A letter of recommendation from a community member
Completed applications must be submitted no later than April 15.
