The Lord Botetourt and James River indoor track teams competed at Liberty University in Lynchburg last weekend while LB also sent athletes to the Virginia Showcase meet at the Virginia Beach Sports Complex.
At the Walter Bass High School Invitational at Liberty University, James River’s Gavin Binns took 16th in a strong field in the 55 meters. Jayden Alston was eighth in the shot put.
At Virginia Beach, LB seniors Ethan Thorne and Eric Duncan broke the school record in the 1600 and 3200 and qualified for states. Caleb Miller qualified for states in the 55 hurdles and John Moughrabi qualified for states in the 300m.
“We had tons of personal best times at Liberty and the Virginia Showcase in Virginia Beach,” said LB coach Tra Wilson.
