The Botetourt County FFA Alumni and Supporters will host their Annual Youth Ag Expo this Friday, Feb. 13, at Lord Botetourt High School from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event is open to the public and highlights the talents, skills, and dedication of local 4-H and FFA members from across Botetourt County.
Community members are invited to begin the evening by visiting the annual silent auction, featuring items generously donated by local businesses. Proceeds from the auction help support youth agricultural education programs throughout the county.
Throughout the school hallways, attendees can explore exhibits from community organizations that support the Botetourt County FFA Alumni and Supporters and work to promote youth involvement and leadership. Demonstrations and interactive activities will allow visitors of all ages to learn more about agriculture, education, and service opportunities available in the community.
One of the evening’s highlights will be the archery demonstration in the gym, hosted by the 4-H Shooting Club. Club members will demonstrate proper archery techniques and provide guidance for those interested in learning more about the sport.
Across the hall in the cafeteria, guests can enjoy free hot dogs and desserts while visiting booths hosted by local youth organizations. All 10 Botetourt County 4-H groups and four FFA chapters will be represented, offering hands-on activities and information about their programs. Also on display will be a 100 Years of Virginia FFA exhibit, showcasing the history of FFA in the state and its roots in Botetourt County.
Visitors are encouraged to stop by the agriculture shop to see live animals raised by local 4-H and FFA members as part of their agricultural education projects.
At 6:30 p.m., guests can enjoy the annual 4-H Share-the-Fun Talent Show, featuring performances by talented local 4-H members.
The Youth Ag Expo is an annual event designed to celebrate youth achievement, promote agricultural education, and connect the community with the next generation of leaders. Residents are encouraged to attend, learn more about local programs, and support Botetourt County’s students.
