The Lord Botetourt girls will host William Byrd in a Blue Ridge District softball game in Daleville Friday. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
The girls dropped two games in the past week and were scheduled to play at Staunton River on Tuesday, but results were too late for publication. Last Friday Botetourt lost at home to Franklin County, 13-2. Olivia Pierce, Gracelynn Clark and Gracie Sargent each collected two hits while Pierce and Clark each drove in a run.
On Monday of this week the girls hosted Pulaski County in a non-district game and lost a slugfest, 14-10. Botetourt led for most of the game but the Cougars rallied late to pick up the win.
Pierce collected three hits, including a triple. Phoenix Humphries and Maggie Sarver also had three hits in the game and Callie Shuler, Callie Kidd, Clark and Sargent also had multiple hit games as both teams accumulated 17 hits.
