The Region 3D tennis tournaments will be held next week as the Lord Botetourt boys and girls both await pairings. Both teams have had strong regular seasons and are looking forward to the post-season.

The LB boys defeated Northside last Friday by a score of 6-3 to end the regular season with an 8-6 record. Ethan Steryous will advance to the regional singles tournament, while Steryous and Davis Kidd will compete together in doubles.

“For such a young team, achieving a winning season is a notable accomplishment,” said coach Tim Howard. “From what we understand, the team also moved into the district lead following a victory over William Byrd last week.”

The girls beat William Fleming and Northside last week, both by 9-0 scores. With those results the Cavaliers are 11-2 overall and undefeated in the Blue Ridge District at 8-0. They have one regular season match to go before the regional tournament, a non-district make-up match at Christiansburg tonight.
