The Virginia High School League has announced the all-state teams on the diamonds and Lord Botetourt’s Olivia Pierce has made the Class 3 team in softball.
Pierce was named to the all-state team as a pitcher. A sophomore, she already has over 300 strikeouts pitching for the Cavaliers. Olivia was also named to the All-Region 3D first team as a pitcher, while Callie Kidd was named to the second team at first base, and Phoenix Humphries received honorable mention.
Broadway senior pitcher Lilah Deavers is the Class 3 Softball Player of the Year, and Abingdon head coach Chelsea Campbell is the Class 3 Coach of the Year. Deavers, a first-team all-state selection four straight years and a first-teamer for the third consecutive year, led the defending Class 3 state champion Broadway team to a 21-4 record and a state runner-up finish in 2026.
Campbell concluded her fourth season leading the Abingdon softball program with a perfect 29-0 record and the school’s first-ever softball championship with a 7-3 win over defending state champion Broadway in the Class 3 finals.
Lord Botetourt was not represented on the Class 3 all-state baseball team but the Cavaliers had players on the All-Region 3D team. Junior shortstop Jairdan Pennix and freshman catcher Beau Lonker both made the all-region second team, while senior Garrett Lonker and freshman Swisher Cook made honorable mention.
