Botetourt Town & Country Women’s Club members recently completed a community service project by creating hand-tied, washable fleece pillows for children receiving treatment at Carilion’s Pediatric Hematology-Oncology facility.
Each soft, colorful pillow was carefully handcrafted by club members “to provide comfort and encouragement to young patients during their cancer treatments. Our members wanted to do something that would bring a smile and a little extra comfort to children facing difficult medical challenges,” said a club representative. “We hope these handmade pillows remind each child that our community is thinking of them and cheering them on.”
The representative said the club is committed to improving the lives of others through volunteer service and community outreach, and that projects like this reflect the club’s dedication to supporting local families and making a positive difference throughout the Botetourt area.
