The Buchanan Lions Club will present “The Sheep Detectives” free to the public on August 29 at sunset (8:30 p.m.) at the Buchanan Town Park. With renovations at the historic Buchanan Theatre underway, the Lions will show G-rated movies numerous times over the next year.
With funding help from the Buchanan Library, the Buchanan Lions, Friends of the Buchanan Library and the Town Improvement Society, the Lions will present the movies with the coordinated help of the Botetourt Parks and Recreation and the Buchanan Theatre. These organizations will supply popcorn, sodas and homemade baked goods.
The Lions suggest bringing folding chairs, a blanket, and bug spray and turn off all cell phones or leave them locked in cars. Parking is free. Arrive early for best seats.
All families and children are encouraged to enjoy Buchanan’s fun family event evening (weather permitting).
The Lions will also be polling the audience at the food tables for the next G-rated showing in September.
