Pleasant Hill distributing food Saturday
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church will hold its monthly Food Box Ministry distribution on Saturday, Oct. 10. If you or someone you know is in need of food, stop by one of the two pick-up locations from 9-10:30 a.m.:
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 4930 Country Club Road, Troutville (at the corner of Haymakertown and Country Club Roads); and the Eagle Rock Library, 55 Eagle’s Nest Drive, Eagle Rock.
Buchanan Food Pantry open Saturday
The Buchanan Presbyterian Church Food Pantry will be open October 10 from 9 a.m. till 11 a.m. The committee from the Presbyterian Church will distribute meat, milk, bread and staples at the curb. Anyone in need is welcome. The church is at 19559 Main Street, Buchanan.
The committee thanks all who help in any way with this mission. If you would like to contribute, food can be dropped off either at the church or Southern Girls Mercantile at 19812 Main Street, or send a check to the church at P.O. Box 517, Buchanan, 24066.
Fall Festival at Cedar Bluff Baptist
Cedar Bluff Baptist Church’s “Fall Festival: Jesus & Pumpkins” will be held on Saturday, October 17 from 12-2:30 p.m. There will be games, face painting, a hot dog lunch, cake walk and fellowship from 12-2 p.m., then a devotion while cars set up for trunk-or-treat starting at 2 p.m., including a contest for the best trunk.

New Beginnings plans special services
New Beginnings Assembly of God, 1317 Narrow Passage Road, Buchanan, is having a testimony and song service at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18. Light refreshments will be served after the service. Everyone is very welcome to attend.
Daleville Baptist Fall Festival, Trunk-or-Treat
Daleville Baptist Church is having a Fall Festival and Trunk-or-Treat on Sunday, Oct. 25, from 3-5 p.m. at the church, 375 Orchard Drive. The free event for the entire family will include a bounce house, hayrides, face painting, cake walk, hot dogs and trunk-or-treat.
Fincastle Clothes Closet open dates
Fincastle United Methodist’s Clothes Closet will be open on Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; Tuesday, Oct. 20, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 31, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., in the Family Life Center at 137 S. Church Street. Donations of gently worn, clean clothing and shoes also will be accepted. Call the church office at 540-473-3001 to arrange to bring donations during office hours, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Tuesday-Thursday.
Cloverdale Church of the Brethren Thrift Store
New Fall fashions have arrived, along with Halloween costumes and decorations. Linens are on sale with a large selection available.
With the holidays coming, clothing donations are greatly needed. Donations are welcome and appreciated. The store is open Saturdays, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Cloverdale Church of the Brethren has a food pantry
Cloverdale Church of the Brethren maintains a small rescue food pantry (non-perishables) for Botetourt County residents. People may come in any time the church office is open to pick up their food bags. Each person may pick up once every two months, but they should coordinate with Amelia in the church office. She keeps a spreadsheet to keep track of when they can pick up the food. Any new recipients also should contact the church office.
