The Town of Fincastle is soliciting proposals until Noon Wednesday October 28, 2026, for the installation of a concrete pad at the main town well site located at 381 S. Church Street for the installation of a trailer-mounted generator. A metal Carport type structure will also be mounted on this pad.

This pad will be located to the right or north side of the pump house

Scope of work

Furnish all necessary materials and install a concrete pad. Vender is to follow all best practice guidelines including vapor barrier, reinforcement and gravel base.

Selected venders are responsible for clean-up of their own debris after completion of the work.

The generator is permanently mounted on a single axle trailer with rubber tires. Trailer weight is approximately 5k lbs.

Pad will be 12 feet wide x 20 feet long

Minimum Requirements

Concrete pad shall be a minimum of 4” thick using a 4,000psi fiber blended mix

The vender is responsible to recommend if any additional reinforcement is needed.

5 feet from each end of the pad the vender shall supply a 4” in diameter anchor loop made of at least ¾” steel. These anchor loops shall be part of the pour to ensure their security.

Additional Considerations

Time is of the essence as the generator is on order and it’s wished to be installed before winter. Vendors should indicate how soon they can begin after receiving notice to proceed and how long installation will take.
