Four Lord Botetourt High School seniors signed letters of intent to play on a college sports team next school year during a ceremony in the school auditorium last Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 1, National Signing Day. Seated from left are sisters Hannah Bane and Sarah Bane, who will play soccer at Concord University in Athens, W.Va.; Ty Maust, who will play football at Liberty University in Lynchburg, and Maggie Quarles, who will play basketball at Lynchburg College in Lynchburg. Behind them are their parents and family (from left) Anne and John Bane; brother Zack Maust and parents Mike and Heidi Maust, and James and Wendy Quarles. LBHS Principal Andy DeWease said these students have much in common– they excel athletically, they are good teammates, they excel in the classroom, they understand that “eyes are on them,” and they are the youngest siblings in their families.
