“Carole Edwards and Friends” piano ensemble will present its 44th anniversary concerts, Saturday, April 1, at 2 p.m., and Sunday, April 2, at 4 p.m., at The Glebe in Daleville. This popular piano ensemble began in New York in 1974 where Edwards performed professionally with her ensemble for 20 years. Following a move to Virginia, Edwards’ concerts continued for 12 years at Smith Mountain Lake and now are in their 12th year at The Glebe.
The ensemble includes Edwards, Jackie Werb, and Joy McNabb, all of whom reside at The Glebe, as well as Deanne Vance and Erica Sipes, who reside in Roanoke. During the performances on two grand pianos by four hands, six hands and eight hands, Edwards shares details of each piece. This year’s eclectic program will feature selections by Bach, Mozart, Brahms, Bizet, Debussy, Moszkowski, Liszt and Joplin.
Admission is free, but space is limited. Call 540-591-2200 to reserve a seat. The ensemble requests donations to support the Daleville/Fincastle Lions Club. A reception follows both concerts.
