“The Day They Kidnapped the Pope,” directed by Sally Miller, is coming the stage soon at Attic Productions.
In this comedy by Joao Bethencourt, the Pope decides to take a taxi during a visit to New York. The taxi driver, on the spur of the moment, decides to take the Pope home with him, surprising his family and the world by asking for one day of world peace as ransom.
The play runs March 23, 24, 25, 30, 31, and April 1. Evening performances start at 7:30 each day, Saturday matinees start at 2:30. All adult tickets are $12, with a reduced rate for those 18 years and under and for groups of 10 or more at $10. Call the Attic Productions box office (473-1001) for reservations. Volunteers begin staffing the office March 6 on Monday and Wednesday, 3-7 p.m., and Saturdays 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
