The Botetourt County 4-H Hippology and Horse Judging Team competed in Virginia Tech’s “Block and Bridle Hippology and Horse Judging Contest” on February 10 and 11. Seventeen county teams from as far as Chesapeake, Dinwiddie, and Albemarle participated.
They competed in written exams horse judging, and public speaking for over five hours. The Botetourt team placed second overall in Hippology and second overall in Horse Judging. They will compete in the state competition in March. Team members thank coaches Cindy Bandy, Dr. Charlotte Dietz and Rachel Witt for the many hours of teaching.
