The Lord Botetourt tennis teams will have their hands full today when both take on Hidden Valley. The LB girls are at Hidden Valley while the boys play host to the Titans at Hollins University.
The boys are off to a good start. LB shut out both Northside and Franklin County last week, 9-0, before being edged by Rockbridge, 5-4, in Lexington.
“It was a hard fought loss,” said coach Peter Walton. “We simply didn’t play our best. They really wanted it since we beat them three times last season, including once for the championship.”
The girls also defeated Northside, 9-0, but lost to Franklin County, 8-1. On Monday the girls lost to Rockbridge at Hollins, 6-3, in a match that was postponed from Friday.
Both teams were scheduled to play Alleghany on Tuesday, but results were too late for publication.
