A number of volunteers took to the roadsides in Botetourt Saturday to pick up trash during the annual Clean Valley Day. Local organizer Lee Minnix noted the volunteers who registered to “Keep Botetourt Beautiful” included the Sunshine Girls, Jerry Jacobson, Louise Spencer, Chandler Ritchie, CJ Boothe, Jan and Gary Williamson. A Fincastle Team included the Critzers, the Sydnors, the Bordetts and the Brenners. Jack Cassell and Louis Silcox set up the VFW Post 1841 Community Canteen in Troutville and along with the Sunshine Girls provided free lunch and ice cream for the volunteers. Clean Valley Day “Keep Botetourt Beautiful” last Saturday was a big success, local organizer Lee Minnix said.
