The fourth annual Women in the Outdoors (WITO) event is Saturday, June 17 at the Blue Ridge Vineyards in Eagle Rock.

The ladies-only (age 17 and over) event provides a unique outdoor experience that is sponsored by the Botetourt Longbeards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF).

Ladies have the opportunity to rotate through a series of shooting and outdoor-related stations during the vent. Lunch is also provided.

The cost is $35 per woman to attend and participate. This fee covers everything the day of the event, and includes a $25 gift card to Bass Pro Shops. It also includes a one-year NWTF Women in the Outdoors membership, and a one-year subscription to Turkey Country magazine.

Pre-registration is required. Space is limited to maximize the time for each participant at each station. Registration is on a first come basis.

Certified and qualified shooting instructors will run the events that are for beginners and experienced women.

“The outing has been a great event in a fun and safe environment,” Longbeards President Ned Honts said. “The venue for this event at Blue Ridge Vineyard offers a great facility and a spectacular backdrop for the day’s activities.”

Check-in starts at 8 a.m. and the program begins at 9 a.m. with a safety briefing.

Information will also be on the Longbeards’ Facebook page at www.facebook.com/BotetourtLongbeards.
