Barkett Allen Capital, in conjunction with local sponsors, hosted professional volleyball player Kate Morrell to lead a free volleyball camp for over 55 girls from Read Mountain and Central Academy Middle Schools at Bonsack Baptist Church from June 5-8.

Morrell is a graduate of UAB and a former professional volleyball player in Europe on premier clubs including Eurosped TVT and VBA Cheseaux.

Having sponsored over a dozen soccer camps from 2000 to 2012 using a similar format approach, Erryn Barkett (president of Barkett Allen Capital) saw the potential for bringing a high-quality volleyball camp to the Botetourt area. All 55 girls attending the camp received a free volleyball and T-shirt along with four days of fun filled instruction.

In addition to Barkett Allen Capital, area sponsors included The Bank of Fincastle, Firehouse Subs on Keagy Road, Firehouse Subs at Town Square, Lenk Orthodontics, Oasis Chiropractic, and DownHome Pharmacy.
