Colonial Mortgage Company has expanded its team with the addition of experienced Mortgage Originator Melvin Woodson.

Woodson comes to Colonial Mortgage most recently from Farm Credit of the Virginias and was previously employed by SunTrust Mortgage. He has a proven track record of being a top producer with more than 11 years of lending experience.

A native of Chase City, Woodson graduated cum laude from Virginia State University in Petersburg with a B.S. in Economics and a concentration in Finance. While at Farm Credit, Woodson was a member of the Farm Credit Diversity and Inclusion Council.  He is actively involved in the community including leading roles in his church, with the YMCA, as a youth football coach and in Big Brothers Big Sisters. He currently resides with his family in Roanoke.
