Limestone Park Family Fun Night Aug. 4
Family Fun Night will be held at Limestone Park Ministries on Friday, August 4 from 8:30-10:30 p.m. There will be swimming, food, games, a cake walk, corn hole and more. Members are free, non-members $5, and under 6 free.

The community is invited to Sunday Night Vespers at Limestone Park Ministries in Buchanan on August 6 at 7:30 p.m. Bailey Marshall and Zach Wakeman will be leading the music and message.
Solomon’s Closet summer clearance sale
During August, clothing and shoes are on special at Solomon’s Closet– buy one bag, get one bag free. Organizers are moving out summer clothing to make room for fall items.
Eagle Rock Clothes Closet
The Clothes Closet at Eagle Rock United Methodist Church will be open Saturday, Aug. 5, from 9 a.m. to noon and Wednesday, Aug. 9, from 5-6:30 p.m. Free clothing will be available to men, women and children. Bingo at Wheatland Lutheran
The Botetourt community is invited to a game of Bingo, lunch, the opportunity to make new friends, and a chance to win some prizes at the monthly meeting of Sharing God’s Grace at Wheatland Lutheran Church. The enjoyment begins at noon on Tuesday, Aug. 15, with lunch served by the ladies of the church. Bingo follows lunch with prizes awarded to the winning cards. Fundraiser for Susan Martin at Buchanan Baptist
There will be spaghetti fundraiser to benefit Susan Martin on August 18 from 5-7 at Buchanan Baptist. Dinner includes spaghetti, salad, bread, drink, and dessert. Cost is $10, children age 3-10, $6, and children 2 and under are free. Susan is a cancer survivor. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2015 and has had multiple surgeries, treatments, and hospital stays since that time. All money raised will go to help with any expenses the family still has.
Cloverdale Thrift Shop
The Cloverdale Church of the Brethren Thrift Shop has a great selection of back-to- school clothes for only $1each, and a special on infants’ and toddlers’ clothes for only 50 cents each. The shop is open each Saturday, 9 a.m-1 p.m.
Homecoming at Mt. Joy
Mt. Joy Church of the Brethrn will celebrate Homecoming on Sunday, Aug. 6. Sunday School begins at 10 a.m and the worship service at 11 a.m. A potluck meal will be served arter the worship service. The church is located at 2565 Buffalo Road, Buchanan. Everyone is welcome.
Pleasant Hill Teacher Appreciation
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church will host a Teacher Appreciation and Commissioning Service on Sunday, Aug. 6 at 11 am.

First Baptist Youth Event
The First Baptist Church of Fincastle located at 6529 Blue Ridge Turnpike, Fincastle, will sponsor a Youth Workshop and a Back-To-School Event with the theme “Planting For Jesus.” The fun will kick off on Friday, August 4, from 6-8 p.m. with a movie, food and drinks. Starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, a full day has been planned with guest speakers from the Virginia State Police and RAYSAC. Included in the Saturday activities will be a youth “rap” session. An inspirational message will be given by the Rev. Sean Burch, pastor of First Baptist Church Amsterdam. Youth and parents are invited to attend. Lunch will be served and all are welcome. Pleasant Hill Baptist will host a First Responder/Law Enforcement Sunday on September 10 at 11 a.m.
The public is invited to join the congregation in honoring local firefighters, EMS and law enforcement officers.
