The James River golf match at Alleghany was postponed on Monday due to the eclipse. The match was originally rescheduled for Tuesday, then postponed again due to a family emergency involving the Alleghany coach.
River’s last match was the Botetourt Golf & Swim Club last week, as the Knights defeated both Floyd and Alleghany. River shot a team total of 331 to Floyd’s 357 and Alleghany’s 402.
Tyler Brown led River and was medalist for the day with a score of 78, followed by Jack Bailey at 82. Mitchell Boone carded 84 while Tyler Lester and Dakota Peery both shot 87.
“Tyler Brown has found a rhythm and is playing great golf right now as well as Mitchell Boone and Dakota Peery,” said River coach Donna Cox. “Each has been very consistent with their scoring.”
River’s next match is Monday at Great Oaks.
