Lapsleys Run celebrating anniversary, homecoming

On Sunday, Nov. 12, at 3 p.m., Lapsleys Run Baptist Church will observe the church’s 149th anniversary. The guests for the afternoon service will be the Rev. William Hickman along with the choir and congregation from the Concerned Christian Baptist Church of Covington.

During the morning service, beginning at 11 a.m., the congregation will observe Harvest Homecoming celebration and will hear from the Rev. David Halsey.

Dinner will be served following the morning service. Everyone is invited.

 

Eagle Rock Clothes Closet

The Clothes Closet at Eagle Rock United Methodist Church will be open Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 5-6:30 p.m. Free clothing will be available to men, women and children. The Clothes Closet is a ministry of the Eagle Rock United Methodist Charge. For more information, call Brenda Spangler, 884-2503.

 

Springwood Baptist Food Pantry

The Springwood Baptist Food Pantry will be open on November 15 from 10 a.m. until noon. Springwood Baptist is located at 88 Copps Hill Road in Buchanan. For more information call and leave a message at 520-4585 and someone will return your call, or email windyhillfarm444@aol.com.

 

Mill Creek Baptist is drop-off site for Operation Christmas Child

Mill Creek Baptist Church is a drop-off location this year for Samaritans Purse, Operation Christmas Child Boxes.

The schedule for drop-off times is:

Monday, Nov. 13—6-8 p.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 14—9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Wednesday, Nov. 15—6-8 p.m.

Thursday, Nov. 16—6-8 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 17—2-5 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 18—9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 19—1-3 p.m.

Monday, Nov. 20 —9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Take your boxes to Mill Creek Baptist Church, 11475 Lee Highway, Fincastle.

Thanksgiving meal at Galatia

The public is invited to a Thanksgiving Community Fellowship Meal (meal provided by Galatia members) on Monday, Nov. 13, at noon at Galatia Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 78 Gala Loop Road, Eagle Rock.  “Come and dine and have fellowship time!” said Pastor Greg. Transportation provided upon request– call Pastor Greg at 588-9452 or 884-3616.

 

Mount Olivet Christmas Bazaar

Mount Olivet United Methodist Church is holding a Christmas Bazaar at the church on Saturday, Nov. 18 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. The church is at 26310 Lee Highway, Buchanan.

Breakfast, lunch and baked items will be for sale, all made by the Mount Olivet Quilters.  There will be music by Eagle Mountain Band. All are invited to enjoy the fellowship, food and music.

 

Troutville Community Thanksgiving Service

The public is invited to join the Troutville congregations on November 19 at 6 p.m. for the annual Community Thanksgiving Service. Troutville Church of the Brethren is the host and the speaker will be John Graybill, pastor of the Cave Rock Baptist congregation. When the service ends, stay for food and fellowship. The church is located at 5133 Lee Highway in Troutville, 992-1571.

 

Baptists to host Bonsack union worship

The annual neighborhood ecumenical Thanksgiving worship for the Bonsack community will be held at Bonsack Baptist Church this year on Tuesday night, Nov. 21, starting at 7. The church is at 4845 Cloverdale Road. Its major partner is Bonsack United Methodist with other groups invited.
