“What a Doll!”, a collection of dolls from the mid 1800s to the 1960s, is now open for visitors in the first floor Botetourt Gallery of the Botetourt County Historical Museum.

Included in the new holiday exhibit are dolls from the 19th and 20th centuries, including a Shirley Temple doll and one of the original “Barbie” dolls.  Also included are several Native American dolls and a Raggedy Ann and Andy. Several ceramic dolls from the museum’s permanent collection that date back to the 1800s are also on display.

This wide variety of dolls has been assembled from the museum’s permanent collection as well as some that have been borrowed for the exhibit from Historical Society members.

The museum is open daily 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and Sundays, 2-4 p.m. Admission is free of charge. The Botetourt County Historical Museum is located at 3 West Main Street, Fincastle, on the Courthouse Square, directly behind the courthouse.  For more information, contact the museum at 473-8394.
