The Botetourt School Board held a called meeting late Tuesday afternoon to discuss legal and personnel matters in what was expected to be a close session.
School Superintendent John Busher said he was not at liberty to talk about the closed session because it involved personnel, and he did not know if any action would come after.
The called meeting came following an announcement on Friday that the Botetourt County Department of Social Services had notified the Sheriff’s Office about an allegation of inappropriate behavior between a James River High School faculty member and “current student(s).”
According to the Sheriff’s Department, Social Services notified the Sheriff’s Department on Thursday, Dec. 6.
“No arrests have been made at this time and this incident is currently under investigation by the Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office,” the news release from the Sheriff’s Office said.
As of Tuesday morning, the investigation was continuing.
