Cedar Bluff bake sale Friday
Cedar Bluff Baptist Church will have a bake sale on Good Friday, April 19 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. in front of the Buchanan Town Hall. Items will include cakes, pies, homemade bread, cookies and more.
Zion Hill Baptist Easter services
Zion Hill Baptist Church invites everyone to special Easter Sunday services. A sunrise service will be held at 7 a.m., followed by breakfast at 8 a.m.
Sunday School will begin at 9 a.m. Then celebrate the risen Lord with special music and God’s word in the worship service at 10 a.m.
Good Friday service at Trinity UMC
Trinity United Methodist will host a Good Friday service on Friday, April 19 at 7 p.m.
The service will include Communion, music by a mass choir, and readings of the Passion of Christ. The church is located on Main Street, Buchanan. All are welcome to attend.
Messiah in the Passover at Orchard Hills
Orchard Hills Church will be hosting a Messiah in the Passover event, led by Rabbi Neal Surasky, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18. Neal will provide a demonstration of a Passover meal and an explanation of the way that this meal, instituted hundreds of years before Christ, looked forward to all that Jesus would accomplish on the cross. This will be fun event for the whole family, and will feature free childcare for children 4 and under. All are invited.
Trinity Brethren celebrating Resurrection Sunday
Celebrate Resurrection Sunday at Trinity Church of the Brethren on April 21 at 11 a.m. Trinity will be sharing a silhouette drama of Holy Week, following Jesus from his betrayal to the Garden of Gethsemane to the cross and the empty tomb. Special Easter services at Mill Creek
Mill Creek Baptist Church invites the community to April services as “Easter’s Mercy – Through the Eyes of Forgiveness” is presented through music, drama and spoken word:
• Maundy Thursday, April 18, potluck dinner at 6 p.m., followed by a special service at 7 p.m., follow “Jesus’ Road to Calvary.” Children’s activities will be available during this service.
• Good Friday, April 19, a brief Cross Draping Service on the front lawn of the church at 3 p.m.
• Easter Sunday, April 21, a sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall followed by a breakfast. Then at 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., celebrate “The Resurrection!”
• Sunday, April 28 at 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., experience “Our Savior’s Love.” The adult and children’s handbell choirs will provide special music that day.
The public is invited to any or all of these special services.
First Baptist of Fincastle Easter services
The First Baptist Church of Fincastle at 6529 Blue Ridge Turnpike, Fincastle where Rev. Montie E. Brown Sr. is pastor, will be altering the Easter Sunday schedule: 6:30 a.m. service with Lily of the Valley Baptist Church, Fincastle; Sunday School will begin at 8:45 a.m. and Easter Sunday church service will begin at 10 a.m. Everyone is welcome.
Galatia welcoming new pastor
Galatia Evangelical Presbyterian Church invites the public to meeting new Transitional Pastor Karyn Cartier on Friday, April 19 from 6-8 p.m. at the church. Refreshments will be provided.

Springwood Food Pantry open April 17
The Springwood Baptist Food Pantry will be open on April 17 from 10 a.m. until noon. Additionally, Feeding America Southwest Virginia’s produce delivery vehicle, the “Veggie Mobile,” will be onsite on both dates to distribute fresh fruits and vegetables to community members in need free of charge. This program is part of the food bank’s Mobile Produce Program. Stop by and take advantage of this valuable opportunity to get fresh, healthy produce.

Springwood Baptist Church will have a special Good Friday service at 7 p.m. April 19.
A sunrise service will be held at 7 a.m. on Easter Sunday; then Sunday School from 9:45-10:45 a.m., and worship at 11 a.m.
The youth will lead the church service on Sunday, April 28.

Troutville Church of the Brethren will have a Maundy Thursday Love Feast worship service at 7 p.m. on April 18 and Easter worship at 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 21.
Easter services at Colonial Baptist
Colonial Baptist Church in Blue Ridge invites everyone to Easter services on Sunday, April 21, beginning with a sunrise service (outside, weather permitting) at 7 a.m. Then stay and enjoy Easter breakfast at 8 a.m. (bring a dish), and Sunday School and Adult Bible Fellowships for all ages at 9 a.m.
The choirs will present an Easter musical and drama entitled, “Jesus, Only Jesus,” in the 10 a.m. worship service. A nursery is provided, and there will be no evening service.

Blue Ridge churches hosting sunrise service
There will be an Easter sunrise service at Glade Creek Cemetery at 7 a.m. for the community. It is hosted by the Blue Ridge participating churches. This year J. Michael Palmer, a renowned former pastor, will bring the message. There will be a breakfast
served after the service, hosted by the Lutheran Church. Everyone is invited.
Ebenezer UMC bake sale April 20
Ebenezer United Methodist Church will have its annual spring bake sale on Saturday, April 20. It will be held from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. in the pavilion area at the Virginian Markette on Lee Highway, Troutville.
BBQ lunch at Buchanan Baptist
Buchanan Baptist Church will have a take-out BBQ lunch fundraiser on Saturday, April 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The lunch will consist of a BBQ sandwich, slaw, baked beans, and a drink.
