The Lord Botetourt girls are 8-0 in soccer heading into spring break after shutting out two Blue Ridge District opponents last week. The Cavaliers won at Northside, 5-0, then returned home to hammer William Byrd on Friday, 7-0.
Against Northside, Mary-Randall Plunkett had two goals and an assist and Briana Myers had a goal and two assists. Balor Harold and Rachel Phillips had one goal each and Carleigh Booth recorded the shutout in goal.
On Friday in Daleville, Booth and Chloe Beasley split time in goal as the Cavaliers recorded their second shutout of the week. Plunkett had a three-goal hat trick in this one and also had an assist. Scoring one goal each were Myers, Mikel Johnson, Allison Kirby and Ally Spangler. Other assists were from Spangler, Johnson, Beasley and Autumn Bonhotel with one each and Mackenzie Tuck had two assists.
The Cavaliers lead the Blue Ridge District with a 3-0 mark and will return to action next Tuesday, April 23, at William Fleming.
